Karen Gillan Joins Guardians of the Galaxy

Karen Gillan Doctor WhoKaren Gillan, best known for her playing Amy Pond in seasons 5-7 of Doctor Who, has been announced to play a role (presumably a villain) in Guardians of the Galaxy. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, and Lee Pace have already been announced.

Guardians follows a group of interplanetary misfits and criminals who team up to save the galaxy. Or, more likely, save themselves and the galaxy thing just happens on the way. This is a bit of a departure from the typical Marvel superhero fare, but it’s unpredictable nature and potential for world-changing possibilities make me excited. And Karen Gillan is darling, folks.

Quite frankly, Tim is a 17-year-old trapped in a 30-something-year-old’s body. He loves good TV – by which he means something with a good serialized storyline – and movies, and spends many of his nights immersed in a gloriously complex video game. He’s a firm believer that Lost was the greatest show ever made, and that includes the ending. Oh, and Tim is a staunch defender of the Ewoks and their place in the Star Wars canon.
