San Diego Comic Con – Badge Registration is RANDOMIZED

Comic Con Registration

Uhhhhhhh, while I have heard that San Diego Comic Con is very difficult to get a badge to and many people try and fail each year.  That being said, having the possibility of not getting a badge because I may or may not win the waiting room randomized lottery… I’m not sure I’m a big fan of this plan.  It remains to be seen if this is going to work out well for people, but it’s going to be something to try.  All said, at least I’ll be able to try twice if I fail on the pre-registration hopefully the second attempt at the regular registration will not.

I also am a little nervous about the new registration process in that they’re doing it “shopping cart” style.  I don’t know about you, but when I’ve done badges in the past there are a group of us all hopping on the computer at the same time and seeing who is queued up first and whoever is first does the badge buying.  But we’ve been able to do different credit cards per badge and I’m nervous that a shopping cart system may not provide multiple payment options.  Meaning that one of us will bear the burden of paying for everyone’s badges and collecting fees from the rest.  That’s not a fun position to be in.

Anyhow, I’m sure it’s going to be amazing either way.   I am glad the good folks over at CCI are doing their best to address the problems.  While we’re fixing stuff guys, how about the autograph lotteries?  Any chance of making it so we don’t miss out on an entire day of panels if we choose to stand in line for autographs and draw a blank?  Just sayin’

Pre-Registration is NOT happening this weekend (Feb 1st)

Trevor began his forray into nerdom as a kid peddling his bike all the way to the local bookstore to purchase comic books. The boring superhero comics weren’t good enough for Trevor, he wanted the real ones. The ones with ducks. Now who's laughing while he’s on his way to cash in all those valuable Ducktales comics. Soon he’ll have his own money bin full to the brim. These days, to fill the time before the money bin construction completes (and begins), Trevor fills his time with photography, movies, television and comic book conventions. You can find his cosplay Meet & Greet mini-shoot and articles on this site as well as prints of his photographs being sold by cosplayers throughout the land.

P.S. Trevor converted to Marvel & DC comics and movies later on, so no heartburn on that one, right?
