SDCC 2015 Friday Panels Worth Considering

SDCC 2015 Friday Schedule

It’s time to look at Friday’s schedule for San Diego Comic-Con 2015. What do you want to see?

Nickelodeon and Dark Horse Comics: Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra (10:00AM. Room 25ABC)

Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the guys behind the Avatar series talk about behind the scenes stuff and tease the future of the franchise. If you haven’t checked out either of the Avatar series, you’re really missing out, regardless of your age.

Hunt for the Truth: Following the Trail of the Halo 5: Guardians Story (10:15 AM, Room 6BCF)

We haven’t heard or seen much of the story of Halo 5. At E3, we got a little bit of the Locke side, but we don’t really know what’s going on with Master Chief. Maybe we’ll get some clarification here. I know that Halo is a huge multiplayer game, but I love it most for its story.

Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (11:45 AM, Room 6A)

Another great Nickelodeon show for fans of the Ninja Turtles young and old. Voice actors Seth Green (Leonardo), Rob Paulsen (Donatello… and Raphael from the original cartoon), and Greg Cipes (Michelangelo) will be on the panel along with other special guests.

AMC’s The Walking Dead (12:00PM, Hall H)

At this point, everybody knows if they’re into the Walking Dead or not. Personally, I’m in and the last two seasons seem to have helped the show to pick up some narrative steam again. Expect a huge panel of nearly all of the major stars (that are still alive on the show… for now) and a sneak peak of season 6. Also, the new series Fear the Walking Dead which will shows the events before and after the zombie breakout, but on the West Coast, will be featured at 1:00 PM.

MTV’s The Shannara Chronicles (12:30 PM, Room 6DE)

Thursday saw a panel featuring Terry Brooks, the author of the Shannara series. Today we get a look at the new MTV show which has the potential to be pretty cool. Game of Thrones has done a lot to bring fantasy to the mainstream, and Shannara could be the next big thing. Fingers crossed.

The 100 Special Video Presentation and Q&A (12:30 PM, Ballroom 20)

I rebelled against this show for awhile thinking it was just silly teenager stuff. I publicly admit that I was totally wrong. The show is cool and dark and full of interesting twists. Season 1 differed wildly from season 2 and the next season looks like it will be even crazier.

Game of Thrones Panel and Q&A Session (2:30 PM, Hall H)

The panel is mostly full of characters that weren’t even around at the beginning of the show, but your favorite character is likely dead at this point. Maybe not. There are still a few standouts left. The panel will be huge, and with the Walking Dead before it and another MASSIVE property appearing later in the evening, you need to be lined up already if you want to get into Hall H on Friday.

Marvel Television Presents (3:00 PM, Ballroom 20)

I feel obligated to include this panel because Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is pretty popular and a handful of people might like Agent Carter. Tried them, and no thank you.

Bob’s Burgers (4:00 PM, Indigo Ballroom – Hilton San Diego Bayfront)

You won’t have to like Bob’s Burgers to have fun at this panel. The voice cast is a group of hilarious comedians and this panel is guaranteed to be a riot. And if you’re not a fan of the show, you should really rethink your life. And stay for the Archer panel right after for the same reasons. Few shows are funnier.

Lucasfilm (5:30 PM, Hall H)

Let’s all scream it together. 1… 2… 3… STAR WARS!!!!!!!!!

Writer at ComicCon.tips
Quite frankly, Tim is a 17-year-old trapped in a 30-something-year-old’s body. He loves good TV – by which he means something with a good serialized storyline – and movies, and spends many of his nights immersed in a gloriously complex video game. He’s a firm believer that Lost was the greatest show ever made, and that includes the ending. Oh, and Tim is a staunch defender of the Ewoks and their place in the Star Wars canon. You can listen to Tim on the Whatever Makes You Weird podcast, check out his opinions about upcoming movies in our Trailerpark Tuesday segments, and find his reporting about cons and all things nerd-ish on Comic Con Tips.
