Tell us how your San Diego Comic Con Registration process went! Tell us all about it in all it’s gory details.
Trevor began his forray into nerdom as a kid peddling his bike all the way to the local bookstore to purchase comic books. The boring superhero comics weren’t good enough for Trevor, he wanted the real ones. The ones with ducks. Now who's laughing while he’s on his way to cash in all those valuable Ducktales comics. Soon he’ll have his own money bin full to the brim. These days, to fill the time before the money bin construction completes (and begins), Trevor fills his time with photography, movies, television and comic book conventions. You can find his cosplay Meet & Greet mini-shoot and articles on this site as well as prints of his photographs being sold by cosplayers throughout the land.

P.S. Trevor converted to Marvel & DC comics and movies later on, so no heartburn on that one, right?

Was dutifully following the instructions, and at 1p EST the screen refreshes and says “Error. An error occurred while processing your request”. Attempting to re-enter resulted in a page that stated “Registration Code – Already Fully Redeemed”. Per the status, all badges at this time (except for Preview Night) were available. Just plain blows that when you follow the instructions you still get screwed. Attempting to try and contact CCI/Epic to resolve this, as the issue is obviously not via my side, but theirs. We’ll see…
Relatively speaking, not as bad; we got THUR/SUN, but not after waiting 2 hours and after friends of ours gave up once they heard FRI/SAT was out. They’ve gone the last 6+ years, my husband and I joined them when we could and have gone the last 3+ years, attending all four days. Now all are unhappy; what’s the point of going at all if even the die-hard fans get booted out of the best days because the event has just gotten too big? When you weigh the programming of THURS/SUN against the cost to attend (flights, hotels, spending money), it’s not worth it to most and don’t even get me started on hotels! That whole process is a nightmare as well and something that used to feel special, unique experience is just a waste of time and a lot of heartache.
I would like to know my place in line while waiting. That was agony. There should be more allotment for Preview Night as that sold out quickly. No crashes on my end for once. My experience was smooth but not for others. I was disappointed when we got locked out of Preview Night. But beggars can’t be choosers right?
Last year was my first time attending the con and I managed to get 4 days in 16 minutes of waiting total. I think having a number really helped with keeping stress down because I wasn’t having a panic attack wondering where I was in line. I have no problem with the randomization but a sign ANY SIGN of where you are would really really help! Also i was told Firefox was the best browser. Never again for me. After hearing that there was only one day left I decided to hell with it and refreshed, got the yellow bar that said only Sun left. Then I decided to close the tab in Firefox and try Chrome. Logged-in in Chrome and was immediately at the sale page (but couldn’t buy anything because my id was already used). So lesson learned from that; regardless of your favorite new browser always g o with old faithful (even if it only worked once because that was your first time).
4/10 stars. 6/10 users would not recommend the no-number-having process again.
I’m not a fan of the waiting room but it was a smoother experience overall, even though the outcome was not in my favor. It hurts not being able to get a badge after attending Comic-Con for over 20 years, but what can you do? For the the first-timers who were blessed to get badges – you’ll run into huge crowds and some chaos, but it’s so much fun, so milk it for all it’s worth. Hope to attend Comic-Con next year.
I’ve spent 3 years trying to get into Comic Con and each year encountered a problem or was 110,000 in line. Sadly, I’m stuck in a wasteland without any friends who have gone before. This year I tried once more and loved it! I got in immediately. (And I mean immediately my passes were confirmed through email by 9:13 AM PST. So I can’t comment on the wait.) Even after I got my passes and entered in my credit card information – I really didn’t believe it. It was the easiest year. I liked that I could check my computer to ensure that all functions are enabled – so there was no wondering if I forgot something. I liked the pre-registration number and that getting up at 1 AM didn’t provide an advantage. All in all, great new process. No complaints and see you in July!
