Trailerpark Tuesday- Spectre, Maggie, Blunt Talk

Spectre

Tim– I’m a big fan of the James Bond franchise, but especially the modern take with Daniel Craig. The newer movies are more grounded in reality, but still have a lot of cool nods to their predecessors. So I’m insanely excited for this movie. We really only got a teaser, but hints of secret society villains got me really pumped. November is so far away!

Trevor– I always watch the James Bond films, but am not really a die-hard fan. What I have liked is that the storyline just keeps on going. That this just picks right up where it last left off is pretty sweet. The part that I don’t like is that there is a monster gap in between the film releases. This leaves me floundering to wonder what on earth I’m forgetting when the new show starts up. Maybe I ought to go back and marathon watch them, but I doubt I will so I’ll feel a little confused throughout this one. This one does look interesting where Bond is moving to a new organization. Could be cool.

Maggie

Tim– Hmm. Interesting. I wasn’t aware of this movie before. It looks to be a more personal take on the whole zombie thing. It reminds me a little of Let The Right One In which I really enjoyed. This is the kind of movie that Arnold Schwarzenegger should be making- movies where he gets to still be tough as nails but in a quiet/dangerous kind of way.

Trevor– It seems like we’re suddenly seeing Arnold in lots of new films. I’m not sure how I feel about it. This particular trailer, he doesn’t talk and I don’t know if that’s because of how odd his accent will sound in this scenario or if they’re just going for drama. This trailer doesn’t look bad, it makes me curious. The other sound bytes and stuff I’ve heard make me wonder, but I won’t write this one off yet.

Blunt Talk

Tim– I really hope I can find a way to see this. I don’t have Starz, so let’s hope it’s on iTunes. Patrick Stewart is such a cool dude and he’s already proven that he can be incredibly funny on American Dad (another Seth McFarlane produced show). This has a definite HBO comedy vibe. Stewart might be the right person to bring Starz into the strong original script ring. I really hope it’s as hilarious as this preview seems.

Trevor– Ha! I haven’t seen Patrick in a role like this before, and I’ve got to say I’m quite interested. The trailer is funny and I love seeing this side of him. He had some funny lines in TNG but I haven’t seen it since he’s gotten older. I’ll look forward to watching this.
