SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Organizers of the 6th Annual SLC Zombie Walk announced today that they will accept donations to the Utah Food Bank in lieu of cover charge when thousands of zombies hit the streets of downtown Salt Lake City, Utah on August 11, 2013 at 7:00 PM.
Information about the event can be found on the Facebook page www.facebook.com/slczombiewalk and on the sponsor’s website www.SaltLakeComicCon.com. The SLC Zombie Walk starts at Pioneer Park and walks on a route past the Salt Palace Convention Center where the Salt Lake Comic Con event takes place on Sept. 5-7, 2013.
“We’re excited to sponsor this event and make a difference with the Utah Food Bank,” said Dan Farr, Salt Lake Comic Con Show Producer. “Halloween comes early as Zombies haunt the streets of downtown Salt Lake City for an evening.”
SLC Zombie Walk is expected to draw 5,000-10,000 zombies and spectators. Non-perishable food items will be collected at Pioneer Park. Participants can share Zombie Walk photos on Salt Lake Comic Con’s Facebook page for a chance to win free passes to the event in September at www.facebook.com/SaltLakeComicCon.
“The Zombie Walk is always a fun event,” said SLC Zombie Walk “Zombie Queen” Elizabeth Hansen. “We’re not here to eat brains or be killed by crossbows. We just have a lot of fun and now we get to work with a great charity.”
