Trailerpark Tuesday- Pixels, Hotel Transylvania 2, Inside Out

Trevor – Well, I haven’t seen this movie before, so that’s new. It’s got Kevin James and Adam Sandler, so it’s supposed to be a comedy? The trailer makes it out like it’s not, which is strange. I don’t know how to think about this show. It has Mini Coopers in it though, so that’s fun. I’ll probably rent this on Redbox at some point, but I’m not counting the days. And what was that weird Unlock Lady Lisa at thing at 1:38? I guess advertisers are getting excited about trying new things.

Tim – Pixels is based on a pretty cool Internet short from 2010. It’s basically a disaster movie, but instead of meteors or tornados, it’s pixel based aliens that are destroying the world. The concept is cool. Goofy, but cool. But his trailer gives me NO confidence in the upcoming full-length film. Did you see Kevin James in there? He plays the President of the United States. Seriously? The visuals look pretty cool, but it looks like they took the original idea and added a bunch of extreme ridiculousness to it. That whole scene with the creator of Pac-Man at the end was just embarassing.

Hotel Transylvania 2

Trevor – It’s funny that we’re now talking about the same two people again for trailer #2. This trailer was funny and cute.

Tim – The first Hotel Transylvania was a complete surprise to me. It was funny and had a clever story. In fact, my kids still quote, “Blah blah BLAH!” all the time. This trailer is really more of a teaser for the new movie, but based on the first one, I’ll see this one with my kids in the theater. Maybe Adam Sandler should stick to voicing animated characters.

Inside Out

Trevor – There are ups and downs and a sad girl and a happy girl. It looks like this will have a lot of heart and end up being a great show. My kids are going to get a kick out of it and probably end up crying their poor little eyes out. I may take them to the dollar theater to watch this one.

Tim – We’ve looked at this movie a couple of times before, but this is the first time that we really have an idea of what the story is going to be. In couldn’t be more on board. I love Disney Pixar and have almost complete faith in them. So this is one of my most anticipated movies of 2015. I think the story looks cute and could have the emotional impact of Up, and the cast is phenomenal. Lewis Black is Anger! That’s perfect.
