Nate – This trailer is pretty cool! It’s the first I’ve heard of it, but I’m very interested already. I get the feeling that this is going to have the feeling of “I Am Number 4.” It looks a lot darker though, but a good dark, like “Daredevil” is. I do wonder what or who the antagonist(s) will be; we didn’t really get a clear picture on it. I will have to watch this show for sure.
Tim – I’m really interested in this show. The concept is cool with the shared minds/abilities, so I’m hoping that there’s a good story to support the “gimmick”. The Wachowskis are behind this series, and I loved the Matrix, but their stuff has been pretty sketchy ever since then. I like that this show is going to be on Netflix. That usually tends to mean it can be a little more mature. It’s not that I need or want explicit content, but the tone of those shows tends to allow more serious consequences that typical network TV is afraid to use. I’ll give this one a try when it comes out.
Nate – This is interesting. It feels like a mix between “That’s So Raven” and the new “Total Recall,” all thrown into the world of NCIS. It also looks like it could be a bust; the story is there, but it doesn’t seem to be super captivating. I’m a little iffy on this one. I might just have to watch the pilot though…just in case.
Tim – I think that Nate is probably the first person to compare this show to “That’s So Raven,” but he’s totally right. The film version of “Minority Report” that this is based on (as well as as a Phillip K. Dick short story) is one of my favorite movies ever. The concept was great, the tech was amazing, the action was cool with a sci-fi element, and there were just enough cringe-inducing scenes to put you on edge. HOWEVER, I really don’t look procedural crime shows. If this ends up being a serialized story set in that universe, I’m in. But if it’s a case-of-the-week show with a little sci-fi thrown in there, I’m out. Also, the lead looks a little too wide-eyed and naive for me. I need the intensity of Tom Cruise! Just go watch the movie. It still holds up.
Nate – This looks hilarious. I love the Muppets movies, and “The Office”. This seems to be a perfect mix of the two! There’s not too much I can say about it because there seems to be no plot, just the muppets doing things and living their lives, and that is just alright with me. Maybe I’m easily entertained, but I’m excited for this one.
Tim – I’m definitely in. I grew up on the Muppets and I’ve really liked the newest movies that they’ve put out in recent years. Just like the original show from back in the 70s and 80s, this doesn’t look like it’ll be a show that’s just made for kids. Sure, kids can watch it, but a lot of the humor is also made for us grown ups. So I can watch it with my kids, and we’ll all get something out of it. I think it’s interesting that they’re doing the docu-dramedy format, or whatever you want to call it, rather than the typical variety show style. I hope that this show does well. We always need the Muppets to be around.
